Digital Trends And Insights From The 2012 Election

Please join us today for a presentation by Google’s Daniel Sieberg at 2 p.m.

Sieberg will present 2012 election data — from Google search results to YouTube trends – to demonstrate how Americans used the Internet to access and digest information online during the presidential and congressional races.

From the Capitol Visitor’s Center — SVC 200-201 — Sieberg will also discuss how monitoring data in the months ahead can help us assess nationwide sentiment.

Daniel Sieberg is Google’s head of media outreach across services, such as Google+, Google Earth/Maps, Google Trends and more. He serves as a spokesman on a variety of products and initiatives. Sieberg was previously a technology contributor at ABC News and MSNBC, a science and technology correspondent at CBS News, and a technology correspondent for CNN. His written work has appeared in several publications, including Time, Salon and Details. He began his journalism career as a daily reporter at the Vancouver Sun covering tech/business/civics in 1998.

His first book titled, The Digital Diet: The Four-Step Plan To Break Your Tech Addiction and Regain Balance In Your Life, was published in May 2011 with additional printings in the UK, Japan and Korea. Sieberg has a bachelor’s degree in writing/communications (UVic, ’98) and master’s degree in journalism with a focus in technology (UBC, ’00). He lives in New York City with his wife and daughter.
