Networking Forum with Leading Progressive Organizations

July 20, 2012

ACLU, AFL-CIO, Center for American Progress,
Human Rights Campaign, NAACP, National Council of La Raza
DCNet was founded to bring communicators together to share their experiences, brainstorm strategies and build alliances on and off the Hill in order to strengthen our message making.

This Friday, July 20, we will be doing that at a special networking forum with senior communicators from leading progressive organizations. After a discussion about each organization’s message strategies for this year, we will break out into “speed dating” sessions where panelists will meet with smaller groups of DCNet members to get to know each other, answer questions and share ideas about messaging to key audiences.

Confirmed Panelists:
•Alison Omens, Deputy Director of Public Affairs and Director of Media Outreach, AFL-CIO
•Andrea Purse, Vice President of Communications, Center for American Progress
•Derek Turner, Communications Director, NAACP
•Fred Sainz, Vice President of Communications & Marketing, Human Rights Campaign
•Julian Teixeira, Communications Director, National Council of La Raza
•Sandhya Bathija, Media Relations, American Civil Liberties Union

This is a great opportunity to learn what other communicators are doing and to connect with key organizations which are helping set the national message agenda.
